Sorbus hupehensis (Hupeh Mountain Ash / Rowan)

The splendid Hupeh Rowan is an wonderful ornamental Mountain Ash tree; Sorbus hupehensis has mid-green, pinnate foliage turning vivid red and orange in autumn. As with many Sorbus, fluffy clusters of white flowers appear in May-June. The flowers are followed in the autumn by white berries, sometimes marbled with a little pink.

The tree has quite an upright in form with rising branches and will tolerate the toughest of conditions or exposed positions and is extremely hardy. The Hupeh Mountain Ash trees can have an eventual height 6 to 8 metres tall and a spread of 4 to 6 metres wide.
